My Specialties
I personally handmake/knit all CowlAbunga cowls and products with joy! I carefully choose yarn and buttons for beauty, quality, and practicality. The yarn I use for THE ORIGINAL is either 100% acrylic or 80% acrylic and 20% rayon for a soft and lighter feel. THE ORIGINAL WARM is 80% acrylic and 20% alpaca blend for more warmth while retaining a softer feel (unlike 100% wool). Hand wash in warm water- do not ring or twist- and lay flat, or in the cowl position, to dry. I recommend washing before you wear you cowl and rinse until water runs clear.
My Work
Cowabunga (without the letter "L") is a term to express delight. Cowl is a scarf without ends, hence CowlAbunga. My hope you wear, or gift, a CowlAbunga handmade cowl with great delight and kindness.
All products are made in a smoke-free environment. All cowls have high quality buttons for an easy-on/easy-off experience and have reinforced button holes to avoid snags, and for long term use. Unless noted or a special order I use 4-hole buttons to ensure buttons stay secure. I sew in a beautiful label for easy reference to my website for current information.
Approximate size- width: 6" (15 cm), length: 28" (71 cm), thickness: 1/2" (1 cm). To avoid snags please put your cowl in a separate bag/pouch when you are not wearing it.

Beauty, quality, and practicality or bust! I think it is great that you only need 2 ingredients (yarn and buttons) and 4 tools (knitting needles, sewing needles, matching thread (optional- to sew on label or reinforce areas) and scissors. CowlAbunga!
My intention is to share beauty and to make a profit to help support some of my favorite non-profits. Maybe even start a non-profit.
